Managed Service Ownership & Exit Terms

This purchase is for a managed website service—not the sale of a domain, website, source code or platform. Day One Sites registers, owns and manages the domain and owns the website build, templates, code, layout, systems and all original content it creates. The customer keeps ownership of pre-existing logos, trademarks, photos and other materials the customer supplies, and grants Day One Sites permission to use them to operate and promote the service.

The customer receives a limited right to use the website while all setup, maintenance and other charges remain current. Service may be suspended or removed if the account is unpaid or canceled.

Advertising: Day One Sites may place, manage and monetize advertising—including Google AdSense—across its family of domains. Advertising revenue belongs to Day One Sites unless a separate written revenue-sharing agreement says otherwise.

Leaving Day One: The customer owns no domain, website, files or Day One-created content unless all outstanding charges and the applicable exit fee have been paid. The standard domain release and transfer fee is $299. That fee transfers an eligible domain only; it does not transfer Day One source code, reusable templates, platform software, backend systems or other proprietary technology. A broader website/content buyout requires a separate written quote. Registrar fees and transfer restrictions may also apply.
